Malaysia's gateway to global maritime leadership
(R2/0414/6/0386) (01/2031) / (MQA/FA8039)
The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Maritime Business at Meritus University is an industry-driven degree built for the realities of global seaborne trade.
It fuses a strong business core — corporate strategy, finance, marketing and international business — with specialised maritime expertise spanning maritime law, port and terminal operations, transport management and world seaborne trade. Internships, live projects and field exposure turn theory into professional capability, while Meritus’ base in Malaysia, one of the world’s busiest maritime crossroads, places students at the heart of the industry.
Graduates step into careers in shipping, logistics, port management, marine finance and supply chain services, with a clear pathway toward sector leadership.
Malaysia is situated at a strategically important geographical location where trade to the east and west converge. 90% of world trade is fulfilled by sea, and 80% of that trade passes through the Strait of Malacca — one of the world's busiest shipping routes.
China's Belt and Road initiative has brought over RM100 billion of investment into Malaysia to develop sea ports, dramatically increasing demand for maritime business professionals. MERITUS graduates are positioned precisely for these opportunities.
Upon graduation, students receive an additional Professional Qualification Examination (PQE) award from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Malaysia (CILTM), together with a membership certificate of MILT.
